“Fence Co.” was founded in 1982 by Charlie Powers. His two-man operation rapidly grew in response to his commitment to doing the best work possible for the community at the best price possible. Charlie’s three children, Kelly, Erin and Todd, would eventually come to take over the business. . . and the commitment to integrity still stands.

One of the factors that sets us apart from other fence companies is our high level of product quality. 43+ years of experience in the business means we know how to do fencing the RIGHT WAY. We know how to seek out and identify the best products on the market, and that is what we do. Vinyl fences are fabricated right here in our shop where we can further control the way each section is made. Wood products arrive weekly, freshly milled and/or treated for our retail and install customers. Aluminum products are coming from a new supplier that better aligns with our values as a company. Our fences are installed by long-time employees who were taught to do fencing the Frederick Fence Way; some having even worked with Charlie since the company began.

It has been said that when you purchase a fence from us, you join our family. We put an 18-month craftmanship warranty in place long ago to prove Fence Co.’s commitment to you and your fence. Any issues having to do with workmanship, no matter how small, will be corrected within the approximate timeframe of 18-months. Just give us a call! Common issues with newly installed fences include sagging gates, warping boards, and posts that rot prematurely.

What are our service areas?
Our service area consists of Montgomery, Frederick, Carroll, Howard, and Washington County in Maryland. We also come to Loudon County Virginia and Berkeley County West Virginia. Some of Adams and Franklin County Pennsylvania fall within our service area as well!
Do we install fence year-round?
YES! Installing fences in cold conditions can be a bit more complicated for our crews, but we have been installing fences year-round for 40+ years. Your fence will suffer no adverse effects from being installed in winter.
How much does a fence usually cost?
This is a very complicated question. An “average fence price” is difficult to narrow down because of all the variables involved. Prices are constantly changing. Additionally, some homeowner’s ideas of an “average” fence vary drastically from 6’ tall vinyl privacy to 4’ tall split rail. A workable budget number would be between $8,000 and $10,000(+ for a single family home property with a medium sized rear yard (200’-250’ of fence).
