6 Factors That are Making Your Fence Project More Expensive

A fence project can be a significant investment for many homeowners. Price is an important factor that fluctuates based on a number of variables. There are six factors that, if implemented, will always raise the cost of your fence installation product. Try and avoid these if you are striving for a more budget friendly fence. . .

Complex layouts– The more corner and end posts you have, the pricier your project will be. Terminal posts, as we call them, are different from line posts and often have to be installed more laboriously, depending on the material.

Multiple stages– Completing a fence project in multiple stages will add additional trip charges and other overhead costs to your total price. The more fence you can do at once, the better value you are paying for.

Gates– Gates are much more expensive than any fence section of the same size. To save on costs, keep your gates to a minimum and decide where they are necessary or not.

Existing fence removal– We offer fence removal for an additional charge. Consider doing your own removal to save on this cost.

Rocky ground or Brush– Rocky ground requires more labor when digging post holes holes in order to get the job done right. This comes in the form of a “rock clause” on all contracts in areas where there is known to be tough digging. Additional charges might be added to your final bill if the crew had a difficult time digging during your project. Areas with especially rocky ground include parts of Frederick, Hagerstown, and West Virginia.

If the crew is required to clear excess brush or low hanging tree branches, the cost will reflect the extra labor involved.

Add Ons/Decoration– Lattice work, trim boards, decorative post tops, custom spacing, and other details add to your cost. For your convenience, your Frederick Fence sales rep will gladly provide pricing on affordable fencing solutions, so you can compare styles and costs.
