Fencing a large yard can prove to be a considerable monetary investment. We could like to assist you with choosing a quality fence solution that will suit your needs well without stretching the budget unnecessarily. Keep in mind each of these factors when a vast amount of fencing is needed. . .

What is the Purpose?
Consider your purpose for such a large backyard fence. Do you wish to protect and contain your property via a boundary? Are you looking to provide as much space as possible to allow your pets and children to roam around your property safely? Do you require privacy in every part of your space? Deer can also be a motivating factor for seeking a backyard fence installation. Determining your primary purpose will help narrow down the style options that are appropriate for your space.

You Should Have a Boundary Survey
When a large amount of space is in question, we recommend obtaining a current boundary survey to prove ownership of the land you wish to enclose. If the purchase of the property was recent, some neighbors can be unwelcoming to a new backyard fence in areas that used to be seen as common ground or even may have been occupied by them. A boundary survey is a form of insurance in this case which will provide protection for you and your backyard fence later down the line.

There are Many backyard fence Cost factors
More footage = more money. That much is certain. All other characteristics such as style of fence, material, height, and even color play a role in how much your new fence will cost. Go over specific design details with your sales representative. Ask questions about the long-term value of materials and how to cut costs on certain details that are unnecessary to you.
For example: Our most affordable aluminum fences are our in-stock options. The simple and contemporary designs suit almost any residential need. However, if you desire a unique color, design, or height option, you will likely be paying more for those details. A good way to save on aluminum fencing is to choose one of our specially chosen stock options sourced from Antebellum Manufacturers.

What is the Landscape of your Space?
In many cases, hilly areas make more work for our fence installers. Sometimes fence sections need to be customized on site, or maybe the use of a dingo is impossible, inducing the need to hand dig each hole. If hills can be avoided in some way, you will be able to save money on extra labor fees for your backyard fence.
Rocky areas also lead to additional fees which go toward digging efforts. Frederick Fence handles this by way of a rock clause on our contracts: “. . .If we need to utilize a jack-hammer or similar tool to create a hole deep enough to properly secure your posts, an additional charge may be applied. . .” Sometimes rocks cannot be avoided if you live in certain parts of Frederick or western Maryland. We will let you know ahead of time if rocks might be an issue and the maximum additional cost which may be applied, per your contract.

You Might Save by Mixing and Matching Fence Styles
There is no need to decide on just one type of fence for your entire backyard fence installation project. One fence design may be desirable for a portion of your space but not required in others. An example of this would be in the case of a customer wanting privacy from close neighbors near the house, but who also wants to be able to see out past the end of their property. We would recommend a wood or vinyl privacy fence near the house, then transition to an open style of fence in a matching material further out. Combinations like these can also save you money on your project, with privacy fencing being more expensive than paddock, ranch, or split rail. Ask your Fence Co. representative about combining fence styles to save on your fence project.

A few styles that are always a great option
If you want to get right down to it and pick the most budget friendly fence to enclose your large space, most likely it will be wood paddock, estate, or split rail style fencing. Add more versatility with the addition of wire mesh if you have pets and/or children. We find that these styles suit the needs of most clients very well.
